MAVO Quant Indicator
Features overview
With the MAVO Quant Indicator you get a tool that carries out a quantitative analysis of the current market situation with each new candle.
The result of the analysis can be used to draw conclusions about the possible course of the price.
The indicator is suitable for all timeframes and can be used for Forex, indices, commodities and everything else.
All parameters used for quantitative analysis as well as the appearance can be configured.
The indicators used for the quantitative analysis can be switched on and off as required.
Core configuration settings
- Minimum pips to reach - The amount of pips you want the price to go in one direction to be considered as a buy or sell movement.
- Amount of bars to look ahead - The number of bars within which the min. pips have to be reached.
- No. of bars to search back - The number of bars to search for similar events.
- No. of events to search - Defines how many events will be searched and put into calculation.
How does the MAVO Quant Indicator work?
The exact function of the MAVO Quant indicator is best explained by the following example:
Given that the following values are set for the following parameters:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum pips to reach | 8 |
| Amount of bars to look ahead | 5 |
| No. of bars to search back | 5000 |
| No. of events to search | 10 |
| Enable RSI | true |
| RSI Upper level | 70 |
Furthermore, we assume that with completion of the last candle the RSI has closed above the RSI upper level of 70.
Percentage distribution
If an occurrence of the same event has been found, it is checked whether the course in the following 5 candles (Amount of bars to look ahead) has risen or fallen by at least 8 pips (minimum pips to reach). If the price first rose 8 pips, this event will be considered a buy event. Analogue as sell event, if the price in the following candles should have dropped by 8 pips. If the price did not rise or fall by 8 pips, the event is considered neutral. Assuming a total of 10 events were found, where 7 were rated as buy-events, 2 as sell-events and 1 as neutral, the following picture emerges for the indicator RSI: 70% buy, 20% sell.
The result shows that the course after the event "RSI is over 70" has risen by at least 8 pips in 7 cases within 5 candles for the last 10 times.
Now let's assume that for a further indicator (e.g. ADX) an event has also occurred at the same time and the following picture shows up for this one: 50% buy, 50% sell.
The overall picture would be composed of the average (arithmetic mean) of both indicators - in this case 60% buy and 35% sell.
Absolute pips and their deviation
In addition to the percentage, the distribution of the buy and sell events is determined by how many pips the price in the following 5 candles has risen or fallen (at least 8 pips) and the deviation of the individual occurrences is calculated.
Similarly to the percentages, the values are consolidated as arithmetic mean in the upper right-hand corner as total statistics.
List of indicators considered and their events
The parameters of each individual indicator are freely configurable, as you would do when using the indicators standalone on your chart. Please see https://www.metatrader5.com/en/terminal/help/indicators for more info.
Furthermore, individual indicators can be excluded from the quantitative analysis.
